Recently, China's self-developed expansion casing technology was successfully implemented in the deep lateral drilling TK6-463CH in Tahe Oilfield. This is the first time the technology has been used as a technical casing in domestic deep sidetracking horizontal wells, and it has created two records of a domestic operation of 139.7 mm diameter expansion casing in a single operation with a maximum length of 437.22 meters and a maximum operation depth of 5508.04 meters.
TK6-463CH well is a key test well used by Sinopec Northwest Oilfield Branch Company to develop Ordovician residual oil in Tahe Oilfield by horizontal side-window drilling. This well is provided by the completion plan of Shengli Drilling Institute. The Engineering Institute of Northwest Oilfield Branch is responsible for drilling design, and the 60129 team of Tarim Shengli Drilling Company undertakes drilling.
Expansion casing drilling technology is considered to be one of the core technologies of petroleum engineering in the 21st century. Since the research on expansion pipe technology began in 2002, the Drilling Institute has developed expansion casing drilling and completion with independent intellectual property rights, expansion casing subsidies for repair sleeves, expansion hanger tailpipe completion and workover, and expansion screen sand control It has been widely used in more than 400 wells at home and abroad.
Since the TK6-463CH well is the first domestic application of an expansion casing as a technical casing to seal a high-pressure layer in a deep well, there is no construction experience to learn from, and the expansion casing section is up to 437.22 meters long and the well depth is 5508.04 meters, which is extremely difficult and risky . In order to ensure the smooth operation of the well, Shengli Drilling Institute deployed excellent professional and technical personnel to form a project team. Through analysis and discussion of the project construction plan and construction difficulties, a rigorous construction plan and emergency plan were formulated.
