(1) The key to color screen printing lies in the plate making of color continuous tone images. The following issues should be considered in the plate making process:
a. The enlargement of the image must consider the proportional relationship of the screen.
b. Normally the original is the positive image of the positive image, but if it is printed on the transparent material exhibition, the original image at this time should be the negative image of the positive image.
c. In addition to avoiding the mutual interference of moire patterns, the angles of the yellow, magenta, cyan, and black four-color film should also consider the effect of the longitude and latitude square doors of the screen on color reproduction.
(2) Matters needing attention in material selection and process:
a. All four frames must use metal frames, and the specifications must be exactly the same.
b. The screen should be a high-precision, halo-resistant dyed screen, and its mesh size is determined by the magnification of the printed pattern.
C. When stretching the net, the four plates should be carried out under the same equipment or under the same conditions. It is advisable to adopt the method of "one net stretches four" to ensure the same tension and precision of the four net frames. The stretched net should be placed for 1 to 2 days before use to ensure that it is fully “relaxedâ€.
d. The template is made by the direct method, and the coating thickness of the photosensitive adhesive should be uniform. When printing, keep the suction, light source, exposure time and development at the same step (using the ladder). The template should be stored and used under the specified conditions.
e. Large or precision screen printing machine is used for printing. The temperature in the operation room is controlled at 18 ℃ ～ 25 ℃, and the humidity is controlled at 50% ～ 70%.
f. The screen pitch of the printing should be as small as possible to improve the accuracy of overprinting and reduce the phenomenon of moire.
g. The length of the doctor blade should be the same, and the pressure is small. The doctor blade angle is about 75 ° ~ 80 °, the hardness is slightly larger, that is, the Shore hardness is about 70, and the blade should be kept sharp.
h. The ink should be thin (approximately 20 μm) and even to prevent the ink from filling the mesh.
i. The choice of ink must match the receiving material, and the spectral characteristics of the three primary inks are better, the transparency is higher, and the viscosity can be slightly larger, so that the dots stand up and avoid expansion. It is advisable to use ink that dries slowly on the printing plate and prints quickly.
j. Before printing, all kinds of printing materials must be properly processed.
k. The printing color sequence generally uses the darker non-primary color first, and then the main color to facilitate overprinting. If the printing color sequence on transparent plastic materials should be reversed, and the background color needs to be printed first, then Color sequence overprinting.
