It’s incredible! 3D printing creates such a miracle!

You may not believe that 3D printing pens have become a "design tool" in the field of fashion design. Moreover, in the world of 3D printing, 3D printing pen is a very interesting phenomenon. In fact, when the 3D printing pen just came out, many people are not so optimistic, because it is very simple, and it is more difficult to use. But it is such a small 3D printing pen, but it has attracted more and more artists to use it to create a variety of amazing works.

Recently, Patrick Tai, a young artist who graduated from the Charlotte College of Art, has created a complete skirt with only a 3Doodler 3D pen. This work took a full 100 hours for young artists.

According to reports, once Patrick Tai suddenly came to the inspiration, but he could not find a fabric that could have the texture he needed. He explained: “My inspiration comes from geometric figures, modern architecture, and some unique textures... I think giving your audience a chance to experience your design, whether it’s through photos or T-stages.” After finding such a material to reflect the repeating lines, shapes and unique textures in his vision, he realized that he needed to make such a material himself, and the 3Doodler 3D printing pen is such a perfect tool.

These skirts in the picture above are the first project that Tai created with a 3D printing pen. One of the skirts was made entirely from 3Doodler, while the other one combined the 3D pen with other clothes, obviously the latter is more suitable for wear. It is understood that the former one is Tai directly using a 3D printing pen on the model, while the latter one uses a more traditional production method.

The 3D printed materials used in these garments are said to be ABS and a softer FLEXY. Tai explained: "I used ABS plastic when I first tried it... I bought some new FLEXY materials by chance. I immediately liked it soft. So most of my clothes use FLEXY. And ABS only supports it at its edges."

Today, Tai's clothes and other works that use 3D printing pens more or less have begun to showcase at some events, including the North Carolina Fashion Association and fashion shows held in various locations.

“The responses I have received so far about these 3D garments are positive.” Tai said: “People are very supportive of this form and praise it. Some people don’t believe that these works can be made with just one pen. ”

Currently, the young designer is launching his own online store, which will sell women's clothing and accessories made with 3Doodler. In addition, these works of Tai were also selected for the 2015 3Doodler Award and won 6 awards in the fashion category.
