The substrate for hot stamping includes general paper, ink printing paper such as gold and silver ink, plastic (PK, PP, PVC, engineering plastics such as ABS, etc.), leather, wood and other special materials.

With the application of high-tech in bronzing, the bronzing process has developed in a deeper and broader direction. For most products (including hot stamping on gold, silver, laser and glass cards), use a wide range of common gold, laser gold stamping. It is used in high-end goods packaging and positioning holographic bronzing with certain anti-counterfeiting effects.

Hot stamping main equipment and materials

Hot stamping is mainly the use of heat and pressure to transfer patterns or text to the surface of the hot stamped material. To complete this process, the stamping machine heats the stencil (such as zinc plate, copper plate, etc.) with special characters or patterns to a certain temperature and the pressure required to ensure the complete transfer of the hot stamping foil. However, it should be noted that for hot stamping different materials, different types of electrochemical aluminum foil should be selected, and the appropriate temperature, pressure, hot stamping time, etc. should be adjusted during operation to ensure the desired hot stamping effect. The equipment and materials used in the bronzing process are mainly the following.

1. Hot stamping machine

At present, the commonly used hot stamping machines mainly include: 6 station machines (suitable for all kinds of round surfaces, irregular whole surfaces, lines, transfer, etc.), 8 station machines (suitable for the whole surface of various round surfaces, line ironing and Transfer, etc.), ironing machine and hot machine (mainly used for graphic printing on hot stamping products), round ironing machine (including double circular machine for hot stamping on circular printing substrate), profiled machine (can be used to stamp all kinds of irregular products, lines, lines, etc.) and so on. The selection of bronzing equipment is a key factor in determining the quality of bronzing.

The sheet-fed hot stamping machine has three types: flat flat, round flat and round pressed. The most widely used one is the flat press type. The round stamping, round flattening and flat pressing flattening methods have their advantages and disadvantages. The round pressing and round pressing hot stamping implementation is line pressure, the total pressure is small, and the pressure is easily completed with relatively small pressure. The price of domestically produced machine is only 1/5 to 1/4 of the price of similar foreign products, but the overprint precision, stability and function of imported machines are all Obviously better than domestically produced machines, it is also more durable than domestically produced machines, and is more suitable for processing fixed-package high-end packaging products. Therefore, product type and batch size are the key to determining the selection of hot stamping equipment.

2. Hot foil

Hot stamping foil is an electro-aluminized hot stamping foil, which is the main material for hot stamping. Hot stamping foils typically range in thickness from 6 microns to 35 microns, typically 12 microns. The thin printed foil hot stamping is clearer, and the thick printing foil will cause the font to be smeared when it is hot stamped. The basic structure of the hot stamping foil is a base film layer, an alcohol-soluble dyed resin layer, an aluminum-plated layer, and an adhesive layer. It can be roughly divided into two thin layer portions of a polyester film substrate and a transfer layer. When hot stamping, the hot stamping foil is in contact with the substrate, and the transfer layer is fused and transferred to the surface of the printing substrate by the action of heat and pressure. When the hot stamping is completed, the polyester film is together with the untransferred portion. Stripped.

Hot stamping foil can be divided into general type (usually used for ABS, PVC, PS, PC), special type (PP color foil, generally used for PP, PE) and common type (ABS, PP applicable, temperature resistance of this foil) better). Rolled foil can be divided into different models according to the hot material, mainly No. 1, No. 8, No. 12, No. 15, No. 18 and general type, such as gold, silver, brown red and light according to its color. The single-piece pure gold foil is suitable for hot stamping of book covers such as varnish, satin and leather; gold powder foil (three kinds of red, green and medium red) and silver powder foil are suitable for cloth (including varnish), paper, enamel and other materials. The cover of the book is hot stamped; while the silver foil is suitable for hot stamping on the cover of cloth, vinyl, leather and other materials.

3. Hot stamping version

The high quality bronzing version is the primary factor in ensuring the quality of bronzing. At present, the gilding plate is mainly made of photographic etching process and electronic engraving technology, and the material is commonly used in copper plate or zinc plate. The copper plate is fine, the surface finish and heat transfer effect are better than the zinc plate. The high-quality copper plate can improve the gloss and contour definition of the bronzing. The traditional photographic etching technology makes the gilding plate simple and low-cost, mainly used for text, thick lines and general images. For the finer, uneven image thickness, the gilding plate needs to use the second bad depth or adopt electric carving technology. The electric gilding version can express rich and delicate layer changes, greatly expanding the packaging performance ability, and the process is beneficial to environmental protection. However, the investment in electric carving equipment is relatively large, and the depth of engraving is still not ideal enough, which is likely to cause bronzing.

The holographic anti-counterfeiting hot stamping plate has high technical requirements. It was mainly produced in Taiwan or abroad in China, and the plate making cycle is long. It is only used for the packaging of fixed and bulk products. The bronzing plate is mainly made of the following materials: silicone plate (rubber wheel): suitable for general plastic case, thickness is generally 1.5 mm, suitable for temperature 180 ° C ~ 380 ° C; copper plate: suitable for a large number of, deep pressure hot stamping, more durable , applicable temperature is 120 ° C ~ 280 ° C. Zinc plate: not resistant to high temperature, high pressure, suitable temperature 120 ° C ~ 150 ° C.
