[Chinese Packaging Network News] Sichuan Kelun Pharmaceutical Company recently secured the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award. The company's innovative "New Type of Vertical Polypropylene Medical Soft Bag Infusion" project, commonly known as the "Can Stand Pouch," has now been successfully transferred to Guizhou. The first batch of these advanced infusion bags began industrial production in early March, marking a significant milestone in the technology's commercialization.
"Ke Li Bao" is the latest generation of infusion packaging developed by Kelun Group, with a research and development cost of 50 million yuan over four years. Made primarily from polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE), it is considered one of the safest materials for medical infusion packaging currently available. It contains no plasticizers, ensuring that there is no chemical reaction between the packaging material and the liquid inside. There is also no adsorption or alkali phenomenon commonly found in glass bottles. Most importantly, the design prevents any exposure to air during use, allowing for automatic drainage and reducing the risk of secondary contamination. This makes it particularly suitable for high-risk environments, such as areas affected by infectious diseases.
Additionally, due to its strong compressive resistance, this product played a critical role during the "5.12" Wenchuan earthquake. It was used as an "unbreakable" infusion solution and was even airdropped into the disaster zone, saving numerous lives.
In December last year, during a visit to Sichuan for investment promotion activities, Guizhou Vice Governor Li Li held in-depth discussions with Liu Chuangxin, Chairman of Sichuan Kelun Group. Following this, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology and Kelun Group engaged in multiple meetings to facilitate the project’s implementation. To ensure the smooth transition of the technology, the Guizhou Science and Technology Department closely followed the project’s progress, providing comprehensive support and actively addressing any challenges faced by the company.
Eventually, Kelun Group decided to establish the "Lian Libag" project in Guizhou, aiming to transform its scientific achievements into real-world applications. On March 2nd, the project was officially signed at the Grand Health Medicine Industry Promotion Conference in Beijing. The project is expected to invest a total of 10 billion yuan, with an annual output value of 3 billion yuan.
It is reported that the first batch of upright infusion bags produced in Guizhou will be launched in March. The products are scheduled to enter the market in April, with an estimated annual production and sales volume of 100 million units. After two to three years of development, the project is expected to generate an annual output value of 1 billion yuan, with profits and taxes exceeding 100 million yuan. This marks a promising step forward for both the company and the region.
