Paper Machine Information System (PMIS)

Introduction The InfoPac Paper Machine Information System (PMIS) enables papermakers to quickly obtain paper quality information and can perform in-depth analysis of paper machine performance.
Whether on the paper machine site or in the office, papermaking engineers use standard Microsoft Windows-based tools to retrieve, observe, analyze, trend record, and report summaries the quality and condition of the paper machine.
A user-friendly software package provides a variety of powerful tools that enable papermakers to quickly identify and resolve paper machine problems, quickly find the location and quality of the part of the paper where users complain about quality, optimize quality and Yield.
Key Points • Data Collection Gathers high-resolution quality banners, various actuator setpoint distributions, and various process input and output values, and feeds this data to the InfoPac server's ODBC database.
· The InfoPac server can be accessed through the factory's existing office network. It must use the user application software packages provided by Yingpeng, including: scroll browsing, quality analysis, and historical trend recording.
• The Model 2100 Reel BrowserTM provides a new way to observe the quality of a sheet of paper. Through the various visualization tools provided by Reel BrowserTM, it is possible to clearly observe the vertical, horizontal, or vertical and horizontal streaks of the paper machine.
The Model 2110 Quality Analyzer uses intelligent Microsoft spreadsheets with computing power and user-friendliness to provide historical data reports, fast paper quality analysis, and analysis of machine operating conditions.
• The Model 2120 Historical Trending can select any time period and display trend records of multiple process parameters on one screen for comparison.
Description The InfoPac paper machine information system includes server and user application software.
Server application software runs on Windows & reg; NT; its role is to collect and store data. The user application software runs on the user's ordinary desktop computer and its role is to access the data stored in the server.
The data was collected from the following sections: scan sensor, paper machine transverse actuator, input and output process parameters on the paper machine control network. All data is stored on the InfoPac Windows NT server. The server is linked to the paper machine control network and the paper mill's existing office network.
Users can observe the data by running InfoPac user application software on their own computers. The application software includes scroll browsing, quality analysis, and historical trends.
Roll browse can quickly find paper rolls that exceed the quality standard range within a certain period of time. The user can observe the time and location of the defect and the detailed quality data of the defect area. The quality data can be displayed in the following three ways:
• As shown in the figure above, the simulation will roll out the paper roll on the screen, and use different colors to represent the range of numerical values according to the variety. At the right end of the figure, there is a horizontal average numerical coordinate display of the roll and a horizontal numerical coordinate display of the scan corresponding to the selected point. At the top of the figure, there are longitudinal average numerical coordinate display of the paper roll and vertical average historical data trend numerical coordinate display corresponding to the selected point.
· Each parameter has an SPC chart.
·The waterfall chart shows that the color is set according to the paper type requirements.
The quality analysis quality analysis tool enables users to easily access the data stored in the server to analyze and form a summary report. The report can be produced by Microsoft spreadsheet according to the user's requirements. This report usually also has the following features:
Pre-programmed historical trend management reports; extract data and deliver it to a spreadsheet.
A set of user-expandable, general-purpose query software opens pre-programmed Microsoft spreadsheets for scroll reports, shift reports, and breed management information reports. These reports can be stored on the server for up to one year, eliminating the need to print reports on a volume-by-volume basis in the past.
Historical data trend records require only a very small number of configurations to configure any parameter in the database for a certain period of time to form a historical trend graph. The user simply selects from a table the parameters for which the trend is to be displayed and sets the time for which the trend is displayed. The scale of the trend display can be adjusted. The X axis is the time and the Y axis is the numerical value.
User computer requirements*
· Pentium program processor · Microsoft 95, 98, or NT operating software 32MB RAM · 25MB space for programs · 400MB space for operation · Connection factory TCP/IP Ethernet server · Windows NT server system · Quality management system via Ethernet connection (QCS)
· Communication interface with the Quality Management System (QCS).
