Gel-A-Peel Jewellery Boxes

I recently had the chance to try out Gel-a-Peel, a craft material that’s incredibly versatile and perfect for experimenting with different techniques. The first time I used it, I wasn’t fully aware of how well it adheres to a variety of surfaces. It’s not only great on its own but also fantastic for embellishing other objects. We’ve already decorated bags, notebooks, and even made some jewelry. This time around, we received these adorable wooden jewelry boxes to personalize, and it turned out to be such a fun project. It would be an excellent activity for a kids’ birthday party where everyone could create their own unique box. Along with the boxes, we also got a Gel-A-Peel Pearly Pastel Pack, which retails for about £19.99. The set includes three tubes of Gel-A-Peel along with various items to help you craft your own jewelry. The accompanying cards are super helpful, offering plenty of creative ideas for what to make. While the plastic sheets that come with it can feel a bit flimsy, you can easily find a sturdier one online, like those available at Simply Plastics. The little molds included are another highlight—they’re ideal for creating tiny shapes like flowers and jewels. Once filled, they simply need to be left to dry before being incorporated into your projects. Gel-a-Peel is particularly suitable for kids aged eight and above since mastering the technique allows them to work independently. However, they’ll need a steady hand for some intricate designs. Each tube comes with different nozzles, similar to cake decorating tips, allowing you to create various patterns—stars, swirls, and more. My daughter, Molly, quickly picked up the star nozzle and started adding little stars to her design. We decided to transform the boxes into practical storage solutions for our crafting supplies. Molly labeled them "Art and Craft" and decorated them with polka dots and stars, while I added a decorative border. The colors looked amazing together, and I couldn’t wait to see the final result. After letting them dry for a few hours, the boxes were ready to go. They turned out super cute and would make a wonderful personalized gift for teachers or family members. We’re definitely going to revisit this craft soon. *Disclaimer: We received the products free of charge for this review.* As an additional note, if you're looking to expand your collection, the Gel-a-Peel range has plenty of options, including themed packs that could inspire even more creativity. It's always exciting to explore new ways to use these materials, whether it's for a quick weekend project or something more elaborate.
