Analysis of conversion and utilization of remaining spot inks

Cost control is an important part of enterprise production management. Ink is one of the main raw materials for printing. Controlling the amount of ink, reducing the loss of ink, and effectively using excess ink is one of the main methods for reducing the cost of ink. In actual production, due to various reasons, ink will always remain, especially spot color ink. If this ink is not treated in time, it will cause great waste due to oxidation, hydrolysis, and pollution. Here are some tips for converting and utilizing the remaining ink to reduce waste and reduce production costs.

The inks can be classified into color inks, color inks, and color inks according to color classification. The primary color ink refers to inks that cannot be mixed and prepared by other colors of ink, such as magenta, yellow, and cyan inks; intercolored inks are inks formulated from two primary colors, such as red, green, and blue-violet inks; The ink produced by mixing the color with the inter-color ink is called a complex color ink, such as olive, jujube, and bronze. In addition, an important concept is often used in color matching, namely "complementary color", which means that if two inks are mixed and tend to grayish black, the two inks are called complementary colors. For example, if the color of red and green inks is mixed, the hue of the ink will turn gray and black. We call red and green colors complementary to each other. There are two common methods for the conversion of the remaining spot color inks. One is the conversion of gray-black ink to the use of black ink. One is a spot color ink that is converted into a similar hue. The following brief description of these two methods.

First, the method of conversion into gray black ink

According to the principle of color science, after the complementary inks are mixed together, the hue will turn gray and black, such as red + green, yellow + blue and purple. Therefore, this principle can be used to mix inks that complement one another, and a gray-black ink is prepared by adjusting the spot color ink, and then added to the black ink at a certain ratio to be used as a black ink. The principle of this method is very simple, but there are some things to pay attention to in the operation.

1. Since the remaining ink is mostly spot color ink, it is often not a pure complementary color. There will always be a certain color cast. At this time, the complementary color of the biased color should be added according to the color cast. If the red + green ink is yellowish after drawing out, blue-violet ink can be added to eliminate the yellow phase.

2. Light-colored inks should not be converted by this method. Because the lightness of light ink is very high, it is difficult to dim, such as containing a lot of white, yellow light-colored ink, need to add a lot of dark ink to adjust depth, lost the significance of reducing costs. It is best to convert it into other similar hue inks.

3. The mixing of the inks should be mixed with the same kind, because the inks of different manufacturers may be degenerated due to the different compositions and may affect the quality and performance of the ink. Therefore, the ink should be mixed with the same manufacturer or the same type as much as possible, and inks of different inks must not be mixed at random. For example, the offset resin ink can be mixed with the offset ink.

4. When the remaining ink is not enough for coloring, the hue can be used to adjust the hue.

Second, the similar hue ink conversion techniques

If the remaining spot color inks are all converted into gray-black inks, there is still a problem of loss of value. Because the price of black ink is generally the lowest, it is more economical to convert some of the remaining color inks that are light in color and simple in composition into ink of a similar hue. Here's a brief introduction to the basics of this transformation method.

The hue of the ink can be generally divided into gray, black, white, magenta, red, yellow, green, blue, cyan, blue-violet, and the like, and other colors can be changed by these basic colors. Therefore, even if there are thousands of products, countless colors can be classified according to the basic hue. Moreover, there are many similar colors in many colors, and some are even basically the same. This is why the ink factory generally only produces more than 10 basic color inks to meet production needs. In particular, water-soluble and solvent-based inks are more suitable for this method because they are easy to mix and easy to filter.

The conversion of the remaining spot ink into ink of similar hue can be performed by the following two methods. One is the formulation of the ink, the other is the color of the ink color card, and the application of relevant color knowledge to adjust the hue.
