The sub-transmission station is responsible for receiving gas from the upstream station and distributing it to external stations and end users. Its key functions include receiving incoming gas, regulating pressure, distributing gas to various users, performing pigging operations, managing safety venting, and implementing closed-loop recovery of residual liquids. This ensures smooth and reliable delivery across the network.
The final station of the gas transmission system is tasked with receiving and dispatching gas to the end users. It must be capable of receiving gas from the pipeline, distributing it to different consumer units, conducting pigging for pipeline maintenance, ensuring safe discharge in emergencies, and recovering any residual liquids safely. These capabilities are vital for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the distribution process.
The metering handover point serves as a critical location for measuring and transferring gas to each natural gas user. It should have the ability to receive gas from the distribution station and measure the flow in the reverse direction. Depending on the project's requirements, some of these points may also be used to distribute gas to other users, adding flexibility to the system.
Once a suitable route is selected, the number and locations of the gas stations are determined based on the main line direction and the positions of key natural gas users. The gas transmission stations are strategically placed along the main pipeline to meet production and distribution needs. A total of four gas stations can be established throughout the entire pipeline.
The first station is located adjacent to the Sanshan Natural Gas Processing Plant, facilitating seamless gas intake. The Xiapu Sub-transmission Station is situated in the northern part of Ningbo, within Lun District. It serves as a division point for gas supply to Baoxin Stainless Steel Plant and Jianlong Iron and Steel Plant. The Zhenhai Sub-transmission Station is located in Zhenhai District, dividing the supply to Zhenhai Refining & Chemical, Zhenhai Power Plant, and Modern Building Materials Plant. The Yuyao Station is positioned west of Yuyao City, near the Yuyao Power Plant, acting as a distribution point for its gas supply. In the long term, this station will also support gas delivery to some users in Hangzhou.
This strategic placement of gas stations significantly reduces the total number of stations and minimizes operational management points, which enhances the overall safety and economic efficiency of the pipeline system. It ensures a more streamlined and manageable operation while maintaining high standards of performance and reliability.
