On August 15–16, 2014, the 8th Master Selection Assistant Design Finals and Awarding Ceremony took place successfully at the Intercontinental Hotel in Sanya, Hainan. This year’s event was organized by American Interior Design Chinese Network, Siemens Home Appliances, and American Interior Design Chinese Edition magazine. The competition received special support from German Ai Shi Wallpaper and Lejia Sanitary Ware, adding to its prestige and appeal.
The competition spanned nearly five months, with over 2,000 participants joining the challenge. After two rounds of online preliminary and semi-final selections, 45 outstanding candidates made it to the finals. These finalists traveled to Sanya to compete against eight renowned design masters, creating a vibrant platform for interaction between seasoned professionals and emerging talents.
During the final on August 16, each contestant went through three rigorous assessments: quick question evaluation, expansion training, and comprehensive quality assessment. Based on their performance, 15 participants were selected to join the masters in an immersive learning experience, earning certificates signed by the mentors. Additionally, 11 contestants impressed the professional jury and supporting companies, receiving the prestigious title of “Star of Tomorrow.â€
The event featured several keynote speeches from industry leaders, including Fu Zhaoxia, Director of Siemens Brand Marketing, Bosi Household Appliances (China) Co., Ltd., Yan Jie, Marketing Director of Lejia (China) Co., Ltd., Peng Peng, Marketing Director of Ai Shi Wallpapers, Germany, and Wang Wei, publisher of American Interior Design Chinese Edition magazine. Their insights added significant value to the overall experience.
The ceremony was not only a celebration of talent but also a milestone in the development of interior design in China. With strong support from leading brands and a dynamic group of young designers, the event set a high standard for future competitions.
