Investigation on air pollution pollution status and cleaning and disinfection effect in public places

The number of qualified personnel in the prosecution department is sufficient. However, no pathogens were detected in the indoor air of disease-causing areas, nor were any medical staff or disinfectants found to be contaminated. Secondary hygiene products are considered as sub-medical equipment, and pressure steam sterilizers are disinfected using ultraviolet light. It is important to note that the use of disinfectant detection was not properly conducted, with results showing that 3 out of 4 samples were negative.

Discussion: The quality of hospital hygiene has a direct impact on public health and has always been a major concern. Although the Ministry of Health has issued regulations on hospital infection management and disinfection technical standards for many years, the current investigation results indicate that hospital sanitation quality remains unsatisfactory.

The survey findings reveal that the overall hygiene standard for indoor air in hospitals is low. This is mainly due to lax internal environmental management and outdated air disinfection methods. Most ultraviolet lamps used lack sufficient power or irradiation time, and continuous air disinfection methods are rarely implemented. Disinfectant detection failures often occur due to improper storage, low concentration, lack of monitoring of active ingredients, expired usage, untimely replacement, unclean containers, and inappropriate selection of disinfectants. Similarly, the pressure of the steam sterilizer was found to be inconsistent with standards, and the quality of medical equipment has received increasing attention. Based on the survey analysis, it is recommended that all levels of medical institutions strengthen hospital infection control and disinfection management, improve staff training in infection prevention and disinfection knowledge, and adopt new technologies to ensure effective disinfection and sterilization. It is also essential to enhance legal awareness among medical staff and enforce hospital disinfection and sanitation according to laws and regulations.

A study on the quality of disinfection work in village clinics in Jiangxia District, Wuhan City, by Xiao et al., highlights the importance of proper disinfection practices. Another report from Tangshan City analyzed the quality of hospital disinfection, emphasizing the need for regular monitoring. A short report on air pollution in public places, including the effectiveness of decontamination, was conducted in Changyi City, Hunan Province. In June 2003, five units of air conditioners in different public spaces, such as hospitals, shopping malls, and hotels, were monitored before and after disinfection. Swabs were taken from the evaporator, condensate tray, and fresh air outlet before and after disinfection to test bacterial counts, as well as Staphylococcus aureus and Group B hemolytic streptococcus. After cleaning and disinfection with chlorine-based agents, the average elimination rate of natural bacteria reached 99.52%, with higher rates for window and split air conditioners compared to vertical cabinets. The filter had an elimination rate of 92.88%, while the evaporator achieved 99.77%. These results emphasize the need for regular cleaning and disinfection of air conditioning systems to maintain indoor air quality and reduce microbial contamination.
