Abstract: Xinjiang snow lotus, also known as snow lotus, is a perennial herb of the genus Saussurea in the family Asteraceae. It is mainly distributed in the Alpine Xueling Mountains with an altitude of 3000-4000m in the Tianshan Mountains. In addition to the traditional prevention and treatment of diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, irregular menstruation, impotence, and bruises, Tianlian Snow Lotus is also widely used in food, beauty, detoxification, cancer prevention and other fields. It is a widely accepted Chinese herbal medicine.
Objective To explore the feasibility of supercritical selective extraction of the active ingredients of snow lotus, to report the yield and composition of volatile oil by supercritical extraction, and to predict the physiological effect of the extract. Methods The extraction rate was used as an index to examine the extraction pressure, extraction time, and extraction temperature as a single factor, and GC-MS analysis was performed on the extracts at extraction pressures of 10 MPa and 20 MPa. Results The suitable extraction conditions were: 20MPa, 45 ℃, dynamic extraction for 2.5h. The extraction rate of Xinjiang Xuelian volatile oil (2.49%) was higher than that of water vapor method (0.08%), and the selectivity was good. Conclusion This research laid the foundation for the comprehensive development of Xuelian.
