Analysis of the Influence of Printing Processes on the Quality of Printed Products

There are many procedures for printing. To get a good print, each process must be free from problems. Conversely, if there is a mistake in one process, it will not be possible to obtain high-quality prints. If the printing process is subdivided, there are scanning, group making, filming, proofing, printing, and printing. Next, I will introduce each process step by step and discuss it with everyone.

First, scan
The quality of the original and the level of color are important factors that limit the printing quality. In the selection of color manuscripts and the use of color, color matching, whether to meet the plate printing requirements, has become the main factor affecting the overall printing quality. In particular, photos, ignoring the requirements for printing plates, directly affect the overall quality of printing. The picture is a pen with a clear, bright, rich, clear and realistic picture, giving the reader a beautiful enjoyment. It is hard to imagine that a set of manuscripts with serious color casts, lack of tone levels, and distorted texts will produce wonderful results. Although poor quality manuscripts can be dealt with, it should be made clear that picture information can only be picked up on the basis of manuscripts, and information cannot be recreated. Every adjustment will lose a lot of levels and color information.

Here, the requirements for the selected photo manuscript are: the color is accurate, the size is moderate, the gradation is clear, the resolution is good, and the colors are plentiful, the colors are rich, accurate and realistic; the contrast is moderate, and the level distribution is even; The sub-manuscript is preferably over 150 mesh screen prints, and it is best not to use it at a larger scale; the network download photos have fewer layers, excessive sharpening, inaccurate colors, and low pixel counts, and should be used with caution. Once the original is finalized, it is the question of how to scan and handle it. The types and levels of manuscripts vary from one manuscript to the next, and the contents and colors vary greatly. Copying photos with consistent styles and satisfying printing requirements is the central task of scanning and processing. The basic principle of this work is: faithful to the original, higher than the original and strive for uniform style.

Image scanning is the first step of the picture process, and it is a specific step that is faithful to the manuscript. The effect on the picture printing quality is decisive. To be faithful to the original as much as possible and to be as faithful as possible to the original, determine the scanning environment according to the different originals. The original should be analyzed carefully, such as the original type, level range, black and white field, color, content, use orientation, and use size. Some scanners have an original analysis function, making full use of the results can be more effective. At the same time, analyze the defects and deficiencies of the manuscript and understand the editor's intentions, special requirements, etc., so that they can be adjusted and compensated during scanning and adjustment. It should be noted that document analysis is an important job before scanning. Scanner parameter settings fundamentally affect the information pickup situation. The scanner first has to have a clear and explicit understanding of the various parameters of the scanning software and clearly understand its impact on the print quality. Second, each parameter must be carefully set according to the conditions of the original and the printing conditions.

In the picture processing process, the following points must be mastered:

1 Picture level adjustment. The purpose of grading adjustment is twofold: First, compensation for the expansion of outlets in the printing process will be concentrated in a visually sensitive area of 10% to 60%. In the adjustment process, the gradation of the manuscript is maximized. Corresponds to the tone that can be reproduced by the printing to make the image clear and real; on the other hand, according to the content of the manuscript and the distribution of the levels, the visually responsive high, medium, and low-key levels are adjusted.

2 school color. The color correction is to reproduce the color reflected by the original (not the original itself). In the course of operation, it is mainly to correct the color shift caused by the original or scanning, to ensure the color of the main part is accurate, and to ensure the basic color is accurate. When adjusting the color adjustment, it is necessary to ensure that the screen effect is compatible with the printing effect of the unit. When coloring, you should value the specific parameters of the picture instead of relying on the screen only.

3RGB to CMYK format conversion. The format of the picture used for printing out must be CMYK format. The color separation parameter setting will directly affect the printing effect. In the separation parameters, the black generation range, the maximum amount of ink, the color separation mode, and the dot expansion are all very important. The printing conditions must be changed, and the printing conditions should be well coordinated.

4 sharpening. Sharpening is an effective way to improve image clarity. The sharpness is too small and the level is too light. Too big will make the level too awkward. One thing to note is that the content is different and the requirements for sharpening are also different. For example, the scenery may be slightly smaller and the utensils may be slightly larger. From the screening process, sharpening also eliminates the effect of layer loss due to screening. At this point, sharpening is by no means a process that can be done, but is a necessary process for processing images.

Second, group production
The group edition is an important process for carrying out photo and text mixing. Standardized edition and standardization are effective means to guarantee and improve quality. The impact of this process on quality is mainly reflected in:

1 text, pictures, color blocks, gradient operation is not standardized, so that the layout appears too crowded or too loose affect the overall aesthetic.

2 The difference in visual effects due to differences in the resolution and color modes used in screen effects and actual printing results in inconsistencies between the printing effect and the imagination.

3 Overprinting occurs when the smaller size or thin lines are multi-colored.

4 Make the picture black and white by directly using RGB format edition.

5 In the process of group edition, the picture is pulled and pressed to make the picture poor and the output is slow. Especially the enlargement of the picture has a great influence on the picture effect. Therefore, the group edition should strictly follow the requirements of standardization and standardization. If the picture must be in the CMYK format, the picture size should be changed in Photoshop. Do not press or deform the picture, text block, or color block spacing. The kerning of the text should not change, making the layout beautiful.
