The "Regulations on Chemicals Registration, Evaluation, Authorization (Licenses) and Restrictions" proposed by the European Union, REACH, came into effect on June 1, 2007 and was pre-registered on June 1 to January 30 this year. All chemical products entering the EU and chemical products used in all commodities are allowed to enter the EU market only after pre-registration. Unregistered products will not be able to export to the EU from December 1 this year; pre-registered chemical products will win official registration for 2 to 10 years. It is now less than three months before the start of pre-registration. The time is very urgent.
The China Adhesives Industry Association has studied and analyzed the current status and characteristics of the industry, actively contacted the member companies that have exported products to the European Union, provided them with interpretations of REACH regulations, and organized them to participate in related training.

The Industrial Association organized the "Pre-registration Training Meeting for REACH Regulations" in Beijing on March 6-7.
At the conference, we listened carefully to reports from the REACH Law company in Helsinki, Finland on the scope and impact of REACH regulations, pre-registration procedures, data sharing, joint registration, and sole representatives, and reports from domestic organizations on the use of IUCLID 5 databases.
After the meeting, we enthusiastically discussed the definition of related substances, preparations, and articles in the REACH regulation, and conducted in-depth discussions on how adhesives, adhesive tapes, and adhesive products are categorized. Are adhesives, adhesive tapes, and adhesive products required for pre-registration and registration? How to pre-register? How much does pre-registration and registration cost? We asked the relevant experts from the China Chemical Information Center to attend the meeting. One by one, until everyone has no questions so far.
   China Adhesive Industry Association reminds its products to export relevant member units of the EU, such as adhesive exports to EU countries to be pre-registered as soon as possible in order to strive for a 2 to 10-year registration period. The adhesive tape (pressure-sensitive tapes, stickers, etc.), adhesive products (furniture, electronic appliances, shoes, etc.) do not contain substances intended for release. No registration is required. If there is a high risk substance, the importer and all distributors of the product need to notify the European Chemicals Agency (ECA). The substances in these products are regulated by the REACH restriction procedure.
